A film about Marilyn Monroe’s time in England in 1956 is to premiere at the New York Film Festival, runs September 30 to October 16.
Monroe remains one of Hollywood's most iconic sex symbols, died in 1962 at age 36. She works in films like "The Seven Year Itch," "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" and "How to Marry a Millionaire." These films made her a mega star of Hollywood.
Actress Williams’ film "My Week with Marilyn" about an encounter between a film set assistant and Marilyn Monroe in 1956, will be the centerpiece of 49th annual New York Film Festival.
While Monroe was filming ‘The Prince and the Showgirl’ opposite Laurence Olivier, the film will tell of a fleeting encounter between Monroe and a set assistant. The film is based also on the week that British writer Colin Clark, who worked as the sex symbols' assistant.
"After seeing Marilyn Monroe so often portrayed in films as a caricature, it is a pleasure to see this complex personality and unique on-screen presence portrayed so well by such a talented actress as Michelle Williams," said Richard Pena, Film Society program director.
The festival, takes place from September 30 to October 16, announced that the opening night film will be Roman Polanski’s ‘Carnage’.
The festival Tickets will be on sale to the general public starting September 12. It is also declared that Film Society members and patrons will have the opportunity to buy advance and discount tickets.
"My Week with Marilyn" will premiere at the New York Film Festival on October 9 and be released in theaters on November 4.

Williams is distinguished by its own opinion, much of the film star. "I'm
never too late, I'm absolutely reliable, I'm a real workhorse," said the
31-year-old the daily newspaper "Die Welt".
